The Turtle and the Hare

One day, a hare (challenge) a turtle to a race. The hare was very confident and (run) very fast at the start, leaving the turtle far behind.

The turtle (keep) moving steadily and slowly. Meanwhile, the hare (decide) to take a nap, thinking he had plenty of time to win.

When the hare (wake up), he (see) the turtle close to the finish line. The hare (run) as fast as he could, but the turtle (cross) the finish line first.

The turtle (win) the race, proving that slow and steady always (win) the race.
