Harry had always (live) in the cupboard under the stairs. Suddenly, he (hear) the sound of an owl. It (bring) a letter addressed to him. Harry (open) the letter and (read) that he was invited to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
When Harry (meet) Hagrid for the first time, he (be) shocked. Hagrid (tell) him that he was a wizard. Harry (not believe) it at first, but Hagrid (show) him proof by giving him a letter from Hogwarts.
Hagrid (take) Harry to Diagon Alley. Harry (see) magical shops and wizards everywhere. He (buy) his wand from Ollivanders and (feel) amazed by the experience. He (realize) that his life was about to change forever.
During the Sorting Hat ceremony, Harry (sit) nervously on the stool. The hat (whisper) in his ear, "Hmm, difficult. Very difficult." It (decide) to put him in Gryffindor. Harry (join) his new housemates, feeling both relieved and excited.
